Remote start w/factory interface

Recommended Posts

Anyone know if there is a remote starter on the market that will interface with the factory system so I don't have to carry two key-fobs? I have an '04 on order and it's starting to get cold out again, and a warm truck would do wonders for my early morning morale. :sigh:

My neighbor has one that utilizes the factory FOB.

He just hits the "lock" button twice, the horn honks (like normal) then the the truck starts and runs for around 15 minutes.

It may be different for the 04s, but aftermarket companies have a tendency to figure that stuff out pretty quickly.

My 2000 has that feature. Push the lock buttom 4 times and the engine will start. It uses the factory fob. I don't remember the brand name but, if I can find out, I'll post it for you. Mike

Hey guys, I spoke to the guy that originally installed the remote starter and he couldn't remember the brand either. He did say there is a small controller unit under the dash. I'll try to see what I can find this weekend. Sorry to leave you hanging....Mike

this is what codealarm send me ..

We have the Code Alarm remote starter system F-40 that will work with your factory remotes. You will also need the bypass kit:

PLXR to install any remote starter system on your vehicle. The total will be $127.00 for both including S&H priority mail. We can request payment via paypal if you like. Let us know.

Guys,

I looked everywhere under the dash for the remote starter and found it, but there is no name on it. Sorry I couldn't help with this. I did find a website listing some different remote starter and alarm kits. Hope it'll help somebody. Try: www.directed.com . Mike
