Requesting for GM to assist in replacing oil guzzling knocking lC9.

I have done the oil consumption test thru dealer that burned way over tolerance and was told they will not repair vehicle it is out of warrenty. Service manager stated that the pistons were probably shot and I “should buy a new one” that was there solution.

It is mind boggling that a auto manufacturer/dealer can even entertain bullying consumers in this manner from a established design problem....

It lasted until the warranty period and after, what more do you them to do?

It's a known issue on many LC9 engines and they don't care what happens after the warranty.

You are at the point of either finding another engine or do the work to the current one. Hone the cylinders, new pistons and rings and carry on.

I am guessing you think this forum is an official GM forum where as techs from GM are paid to be here?  This is a forum for GM owners who (some) happen to work for GM.  I get your rant and why you would be upset, but isnt this all on you? You bought a used truck I am guessing, and didnt do your due diligence to look over what you bought.  If you didnt know that is why you bring someone who does, like a mechanic.  If you want guidance on how to replace the pistons, that information can be found here.  You can get other help with your truck too....... but I would suggest since you seem not to know much about your truck, that you just sell it for what you can, and try to find something else.  It doesnt matter what truck you get or who makes it, if you dont check it out mechanically this can happen again.

Thinking that this will be a one and done rant post.

But I will throw out the question, assuming OP has always owned the truck, all this just happened as soon as your warranty expired?

Most engines start giving you signs many miles before you hit this point, unless something catastrophic happens.

There should be rules that you agree too when you start an account on the site, be specific, and give as many details as you can, if you want decent answers.

This is like going to your doctor, and thinking providing no details on how you feel would be a good thing.
