headlight adjustment?

Can someone tell me what the devil was GM thinking when they put in the hex nut at almost 90 degrees? I'm trying to adjust mine now that I have xenon lights and cannot find a tool that makes the turn. I have an 02 Silverado and your help is appreciated.....

Not sure what you mean by a 90 degree angle.

I don't recall any angles when I adjusted the lights on my 02.

I got at both of them coming straight down from the top, as I recall.

the hex screw sits outward towards the right side wall.

I can't get anything between the wall and the screw. I've tried an angled screw driver and snake but no success. What tools did you use?

I just used a torx head socket, or screwdriver with a torx bit, and went straight down through the hole right above it in the core (radiator) support.

If you look at it straight down, you can see the adjustment screw through the hole.

I did this one just fine but the one that moves your lights left and right just above the light housing is the one giving me the fit.

They are both (both lights and both adjustment screws) a straight shot from the top on mine. I just went out and double checked.

I used the same tool on both of them, no angles, no bends, no flex anything. Just a straight extension on the ratchet, with a torx socket.

The other time I did it, I used a long screwdriver with a torx bit.

I guess my housing is different because I have one at the top, which I can reach and adjust fine, and the one above the light housing on the inside of the groove (adjust left and right).

I'll keep searching.

Thanks for your help.

Ok guys I appreciate your help very much.....now I must confess my stupidity.

I found the other adjustment that sits behind the light housing through a small opening that will adjust the light up and down. It took me nearly a week to find it because I forgot the plastic housing that covers the fan extends to the side of the truck (under the hood of course). I grabbed a snake extension and went to work last night. Now my super whites work great and I can see soo much better in bad driving conditions.

Again, thanks for your help and Happy Holidays to all.

I can tell you that I'm hooked on this forum......

You wouldn't believe the questions I still have but I will slowly come forth with them as I modify my truck more and more. This place is GREAT.
