4L60E - Flare Shift

Anyone else know of this problem, or heard of it before? Any TSB's for it.

 

I have a 2002 GMC Sierra with 22K on it. Transmission will rev up about about 300 to 600 rpm on the 2nd to 3rd shift. Also on the 1st to 2nd shift it will often slip up to 1,000 to 2,000 rpm between the shift.

 

Also found a couple small chunks of plastic stuck on the dipstick.

 

It goes in next week to get looked at. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similiar problem.

 

Also, the vehicle has never towed or hauled anything heavy in it's life.

That exact same thing happened when I installed a Superchips tuner. I sent it back 2 times and they could never get it to shift correctly. I bought a Wester's and never had the problem again. If your problem is the same as mine, the trouble is in the factory programming, the shift tables are corrupt. The PCM needs a reflash, or do what I did and get a Wester's tune, you get a complete new updated factory flash and a custom tune.
