Is time to change the OEM tires, however, I do not want to buy new rims; I am cheap though.  So I went to the tire shop and after doing some calculations, the size that seems to work on OEM settings is the 285 75 R 17.  I could go 2 inches more on diameter and perhaps 1 more inch on width.  Bigger in the with might hit the upper ball joint on the front wheels.  Painted the center caps with Rust Oleum pealable paint, will see how durable is this paint.  My daughter wants me to blacken the rims, some other people say it looks fine as is.  What you guys have to say?

I don’t have any particular recommendations, but just in case you didn’t know, Craigslist at least in my area typically has sets of nearly new takeoff 18 and 20 inch wheels/tires from these trucks. You can usually get a set for around $1000.

I think I'd like them painted blank. What's wrong with the rubber that's on there or are those pictures old?

No, the tires are just dirty, also, have not washed the truck yet.

If I paint the rims, I was thinking on Gloss Black with a Clear Coat.  That way, I think it will give a good contrast/texture with Gloss / Matte Black.
