Have a 2020 Silverado 3500 High Country.... The mirror tasks lights turn on automatically when in park, tailgate down, hooking up to a trailer and I am unable to figure out out to turn them off. I looked everywhere for an answer. Anyone know how??

Task Lighting

If equipped, task lighting projects light from the outside mirrors away from the vehicle.

While the vehicle is parked, press to select one of the following options:
. Left and Right Task Lights Illuminated
. Left Task Light Illuminated
. Right Task Light Illuminated
. Left and Right Task Lights Off

If the vehicle leaves a parked position, the lights will immediately turn off.
If the vehicle is off, the lights will stay on for approximately 10 minutes all Task Lights.

If any Task lights are on, and the button has not been pressed in approximately the last 5 seconds, then pressing it again will turn off all Task Lights.

I misidentified the problem, sorry. It's not the task lighting, It's the rear facing "spotlight" LEDs in the mirrors that I am meaning to inquire about. I cannot get them to turn off while hooking up my fifth wheel hitch. Any help appreciated. Thx!

Info starts a little after the task light info.

They are part of the 'cargo light' circuitry / logic.

Auxiliary Cargo Mirror Lamps
If equipped, cargo mirror lamps face rearward to provide more light on the sides of the vehicle, if needed.

See Exterior Cargo Lamps pg 144.

Exterior Cargo Lamps

The cargo lamps provide more light in the cargo area or on the sides of the vehicle,
if needed. The lamps inside the pickup box, in the tailgate handle, for the hitch, and/or the cargo mirror lamps also turn on, if equipped.

If the vehicle is in P (Park), R (Reverse), or N (Neutral)

the Cargo Lamp Switch causes the lights to cycle through the following states for each button press:

- Initial Press:
- CHMSL/Cargo Bed Lights - On
- Cargo Mirror Lights - On
- Cargo Switch Indicator (if equipped) - On

- Next Press: (if with in 5 seconds of the previous button press):
- CHMSL/Cargo Bed Lights - On
- Cargo Mirror Lights - Off
- Cargo Switch Indicator (if equipped) - On

- Next Press:
- CHMSL/Cargo Bed Lights - Off
- Cargo Mirror Lights - Off
- Cargo Switch Indicator (if equipped) - Off

So, there are 3 possible modes the Cargo Lights/Mirror backup lights can operate, (based on the number of button presses)

All off

Mirror lights off and CHMSL/Bed light on (and indicator in switch on)

All on (and indicator in switch on)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cutting through the details,  pushing the cargo light button once should get the truck out of the 'all on mode' and the mirror reverse LED's should be off.

I should have added that after being shut off for awhile (20 minutes for sake of discussion - even if truck was left with all cargo lights on) when restarted the cargo light system should again be all OFF.  At least that's how mine works.

When they are all off - push once for all on, and push a second time (within 5 sec) for mirror lights off and the rest of the cargo/bed/hitch lights on.

Next press, no matter how much later will shut them all off.

I'm having issues with the task lights and followed the directions above. With the 4th click the lights turn off however when I turn off the vehicle the lights start to flicker and then stay on. Why?
