TSilverado14 Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I’ve been dealing with this issue for a while now (2 winters), and could really use some help. When I start the truck in cold weather it makes an awful metallic rattle. It’s noticeable from inside the house, so not quiet at all. I can’t seem to pinpoint where it’s coming from, although it sounds like a heat shield (I’ve checked them). In the summer I have zero issues, just when the weather hits below 40 degrees or so. Anyone else dealt with this? IMG_0144.MOV
dieselfan1 Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I believe it's the heat shield above the muffler. I have this issue too but only when I pull away from my driveway when it's cold. Summer and winter

TSilverado14 Posted December 3, 2021 Author Posted December 3, 2021 I’ve checked the heat shields, still have it. It’s a very rhythmic rattle, not random at all.
