Question about rear window coverage

Hi, during a truck washing, I discovered that my rear window is leaking all across the top. Do insurance companys cover this the same as they would cover a star or a crack ? Or do I have to fix this with my own money. Oh, and is this a common problem with the 99 silvys? Thanks.

I doubt you insurance will cover a leak on the rear window... It's just a guess and for your sake I hope I'm wrong. :uhoh:

Your rear window could develop a crack or star, or actually a hole from an unexplained brick some young soon-to-be felon threw at it in the middle of the night without any witnesses. Who is to say just how the window became broke? Perhaps you hit a stone from a gravel truck while you were following it in reverse at 65MPH. Like I said....who knows HOW it happened....it just broke.

Now, I am not suggesting insurance fraud or anything.......... :uhoh:

It is a problem with some Silverados. Cab flex is the problem. GM had a recall of sorts on the 199 NBS for bad slider windows. They were replacing the plastic ones with metal ones or giving 100.00 and replacing with a regular glass rear window. NOTE this was when they were in warrenty. I had a metal one put in mine then sold iot and got a 2002 ex cab. If you notice there is no more opton for a rear sliding window anymore!

My '99 does the same thing. I have the rear slider in mine. It looks like someone attempted to fix it at some point but it is still leaking... oh well I guess.
