Aftermarket Exhaust

So I am thinking about putting an aftermarket exhaust system on my truck...what kind do you have/what brand is good? I don't want it to be obnoxious, just something that has a good rumble to it while the truck is idling, and then if you get on it will get louder, but at highway crusing speeds you can't hear.

 

Also, any chevrolet warranty issues with this new exhaust?

I wanted the same thing, a little more rumble, not too loud in cab, and a little more performance. I went with a Dynomax UltraFlo stainless steel muffer. I can't be happier. You can't hear it inside the cab at idle at all, and very minimal on the highway at cruising around 65-80. You will definitely hear it at WOT and it sounds great. Slight resonance in the cab at around 1500-2000 rpm under load during acceleration, but you will have that with any aftermarket system. I am very happy with it.

Just installed on my 94 Chev K1500

Already had a 3" exhaust, Removed the CAT and installed a Custom Bluebottle.

$90 US, Life time garrantee and sounds awsome. Many positive comments about it and you can still talk in the cab at highway speeds. But she'll bark hard under throttle (note: can't pull the CAT on 95 and newer due to the sensors).

 

A guy at the shop was laying down $500 for a MagnaFlow Cat back. Looked very happy about it until they fired my truck up in the shop. Went white when he found out how much I paid.

Sorry Blue Bottle, A Bluebottle is some sort of Bee

 

Basically A High Performance Straight through Glass pack. more on the racing side I guess

 

It's about 14" long(not including pipe) 7" in diameter oval. with a 3" perforated full flow thru.

 

Basically a A Fat shortened Cherry Bomb I guess.

 

I did a quick run thru the web to try to find more info, Pretty limited, And most seems to revolve around Canada.

 

I know there was or is a Muffler Manufacturer in Red Deer AB that built these for years under contract.

 

The Blue Bottle muffler was also popular in the 60's, 70's with performance Enthusists.

I love my Flowmaster 40 series, but you can definitely hear it in the cab at highway speeds. Perhaps a 50 series (non-DeltaFlow) would be more along the lines of what you're lookin for.

 

A buddy at work just ordered a Dynomax Ultraflow (I think anyway ... he was lookin at a Magnaflow too), so I'm interested to hear what it sounds like. His specs were about the same as yours: a good, deep sound w/o alot of resonance in the cab.

I had a Flowmaster 50 (3" in/dual 2.25" out) installed with custom-bent aluminized duals exiting at the bumper. It gets 'loud' when you mash the pedal but otherwise has a very nice 'rumble'. I drove from FL to OH with the new exhaust and never tired of the 'sweet music'

 

Cost: $385 installed, including all welded connections and chrome slash-cut tips

I have the Borla catback on my Escalade and it resonated way TOO much @ 70-80 MPH. Replaced the Borla muffler with a much larger straight through Magnaflow and it has made a world of difference.

I have Corsa Touring exhaust on my 03' Escalade, no interior noise at all, great sound and best of all it's sold by GM so there will never be a warranty problem.

I`ve got the Corsa (sport?) system on my `03 rado and am very pleased. I ordered it and had it installed by my dealer so it`s warranted for the life of the truck. Sounds badass around town and purrs on the highway.
