She was being a moody ****** again last night so I got clearer video.  Here are screen shots of the messages on the dash.  Video is uploading to YouTube.  I'll share the link once it's done...image.png.a03fc92c39289c4380876b858d19e8e4.png

I believe mine said key fob programming. I just went and disconnected the battery as soon as I saw it happen. My running boards get all whacky afterwards too. I guess some people have this happen and come back later and it's "normal". Each time it's happened to me I wasn't home so I didn't have the luxury. I put a 10 mm socket in the center console after it happened the second time. I never expected it to happen again, but I was definitely wrong. I hope they can figure it out tomorrow. Do all of your cameras work? My front is out all the time. Usually the others work. I got the weird blue screen once and it hasn't happened since.

Yes all my cameras work.  Never really had any issues with that.

Mine has been confined to the no start issue due to it being in remote learning mode and the dead battery because it keeps doing it over and over again and stays on for HOURS at a time.

Here's last night's video.  Skip to 3 minutes flat.  Nothing happens before that...

Mine just says the key fob programming part. At least that's all I've seen. Hoping for a fix tomorrow. I won't know until it's been a while. On average I've been stopped by jt every 10-14 days.

The second message comes up about 10 minutes later.  This is far more frequent for me.  I get in and can't start it at least 2-3 times a week and if I'm not busy and it sits for more than 36 hours there's a good chance my battery is gonna be dead.  My master window switch was replaced today.  Took about an hour and cost me $154.

Crossing my fingers the such fixes it for both of us!

Me too! Twice it happened on my lunch break, which I drive to daily, so I didn't have time to mess around. The second time, I was 40 miles from home and I was lucky enough to find something to unhook the battery with. Fingers crossed 🤞 for sure!

So I can report that I had no messages, screens coming on, or lights flashing on my dash while the truck was off in the last 24 hours.  Obviously going to keep watching it and I'm probably going to keep the camera on it for 3-4 weeks when I'm not in it just to be sure.  Also, plan on trying to let it sit without starting it for 4 days and see if the battery dies.

Fingers crossed the window switch fixed it!

Hope that was it!

Did they get yours swapped out and your cameras reprogrammed today?

It's in the shop right now. They might have to keep it an extra day. I am hopeful.

Fingers crossed!  I'm over 48 hours since they replaced the switch and there have been no messages.  Haven't started the truck since I got home from the dealership and the battery voltage is holding steady as well.  So far so good...

So, they pulled a TSB and went through all the steps which included six things. They also added an extra ground from the starter to the frame. If it doesn't fix the issue they will do the master switch. I ordered one online and will switch it myself. $50 shipped was fair.

As far as the camera situation goes, the programmer said we'd have to lower the camera in the grill 4.5" because of my lift kit. It wouldn't let him do anything. Something about GM cameras don't allow you to prvogram the angle like Dodge and Ford do.

I'm pretty sure I read that the master widow switch required programming by the dealer that's why I didn't mess with it myself

Hopefully my mechanic buddy has all the equipment needed if that's the case. If not my other friend works for a gm dealer. I'll have him hook me up. I'm going to look into that right now. I appreciate the heads up.

    • We’ll have to agree to disagree. I didn’t experience or know anyone who had a decent car after 100K miles in the 60s through the 80s that were daily commuter vehicles. Unless they were collector vehicles. Of course things cost more due to inflation. But we also make more money. The biggest money drains these days are things people think they need today versus what we require back in the day. Like cell phones and internet as examples. Another example is where you live. Cost of living varies from state to state. I would need twice the money to live in NJ vs Texas in retirement. The car you recently purchased was less than my first car with inflation at 3000$ in 1973. I didn’t have air, electric windows, cruise etc. Purchasing power is equivalent, you just have to do the research.
    • Sierra HD Pro:   - If you want a power driver's seat on the Pro, you can't get it.  You have to go to SLE.   - Factory remote start?  Can't get it on any of the Sierra Pro trim (1500 or HD).  You have to go SLE.     - 7 inch radio has limitations for replacement if you wanted to upgrade the screen, etc.    - Steering wheel radio controls?  Nope.  Can you add them?  Yes.  NOT CHEAP.  Requires a new instrument cluster, steering wheel and wiring harness mod kit.     - Fog lights?  Nope.  And no factory path to install them.    Sierra HD SLE:   - IMO, the larger radio screen is a much better interface.   - Fog lights?  You can get them.  Steering wheel controls?  Has them.  Remote start?  Yep.  Power driver seat?  Available.       Silverado WT:   - Same as the Pro above however you CAN get factory remote start installed at the dealer for the WT Chevy.     Silverado Custom:   - Comes with 20" wheels only.  Can you swap later?  Sure.  But.  Truck is calibrated for the stock 20s (34" tire) and no path to properly recalibrate.     - Power seat?  Yes.   - Steering wheel controls?  Same as the Pro above.  No but can be done and not cheap.     Silverado LT:   - Same as the SLE.  You can get or it comes with many features you can't do on the lower trims.       I'd say its all going to come down to what you NEED and what you WANT to have that you'd benefit from.  For me, things like power seat is a must (I hate the WT/Pro seating position), so I'd have to go Custom, LT or SLE right out of the gate.  Steering wheel controls?  Should be standard in 2026 across the board IMO, so again, puts me to LT or SLE.
    • I have a 1500 but the Custom trim. I bought it solely for the simplicity meaning less electronics. I also love the old school gauges. The only thing that I like about the LT better than my Custom is the front grill. Otherwise, absolutely no regrets choosing this trim.
    • Modifications are required.  2020-2023 the wheel well sheet metal does not have all of the fastener openings stamped for liners that the 2024-2026 dually wells have.  The liners are the right shape and everything, and the wheel well sheet metal is the same shape, its just the older trucks don't have all of the mounting points.     Here's a link to a Facebook post about doing this - https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Nqow8VNKE/
