8 speed transmission on 4.3l V6

  I have a curiosity question. Has any one heard ot tried to see if the newer transmissions on the 3.8l V6 Colorado's will bolt up to the S10 4.3l's? 

   My understanding, they are same basic engine, different fuel railing, but bolt pattern for tranny is same. Anyone familiar?

I don't know for sure but Chevy has a long history of common bell housing to engine pattern, Power Glides, T-350, and T-400 fit big blocks, small, blocks and in-line 6 would all hook up to the popular engines back in the day, but the rub is we're not back in the day... Chevy doesn't usually change bell house casting equipment unless there is a significant difference.

it may fit but trying to get the electronics to work may be a problem
