Some GM Wiring Problems

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a 82 GMC 1500 long bed 5.7L.

I was driving around when my interior/gauge lights went out so I replaced the fuse and drove about 30 with everything working.

I get back it today and the gauge lights, dome light and parking lights dont work again but the fuse isnt blown. I though the parking lights and panel lights where different circuts and arent sure where to look for the problem.

I have checked the fused and played with the light switch but the dome lights dont come on with the door either.

Is there a specific area I should look at. College starts on monday and my truck needs to get working.

Thanks

Karl

Check your grounds too, they may be corroded and not always making a good connection. Also check the ground strap that goes between the engine and the firewall.

I am not for sure, but isn't the lighting power wire, that comes from the battery, on a Fusible Plug?

I would check that area. Hopefully you have a multipmeter or a 12volt test light to test with.

Cheers
