Broken Rear Window

Have a 2021 Denali.  Loaned truck to my dad who had picked up fifth wheel hitch and placed in bed of truck.  Apparently he had to slam brakes on hard and fifth wheel hitch handle smashed into back window and broke it.

 

Question- How much is this likely to cost?  Should I be going through insurance?  It broke the driver side rear panel and the middle slider section.  The motor that moves the slider seems to be working fine.  Can they replace the individual pieces of glass or do they need to replace the entire unit?  Any advice would be appreciated.  Any idea on cost here?  No damage to vehicle at all.  Just appears to be glass.

Call your dealer’s service department. Chances are they’ve replaced some of these for leaks and can give an accurate quote. Then decide if it’s worth an insurance claim.
