I'm impressed with the first game of the USFL. Not an easy feat. I noted during the game a note in ribbon at the bottom of the screen that the game was the #1 trending topic on social media. Interesting I thought. 🤔

Quality players and coaching. Camera work was amazing. That drone and the helmet cams. Off the hook. In the huddle and in the coaches head....what a concept! Officials, IMHO rocked this first game and play review when unnoticed by the audience. As it should be. Love the defensive pass interference penalty modification from a spot foul to 15 yards except is cases of flagrant violation. Prevents the offence from being rewarded from 'forcing defensive errors' and the defense from drawing fouls based on 'acting' ability.  Also like the overtime rules that give equal opportunity and cancel 'luck' of the flip. Six plays and your done, barring fouls. I also like the 10 game format. Those boys will get to play longer and stay healthier.

Some people put some REAL thought into this. Both teams played clean, hard and skillfully. I like this allot.

Jeff Fisher up today in Michigan.

Southern sweep in the books. Who'd a thought. Right?

Funny thing going on here. People will drop a $70K truck they bought last week and go totally upside down when a 'refresh' is released. But let an upstart league appear and they hang on like it's the last Oreo in the sleeve.

I will not be able to watch every game as I don't have and won't pay for all the channels to watch them but when I can I think after week 1 I'll give Birmingham a long look. Even given  Alex McGough's injury. 😉

I thought the quality of play was excellent.  I’ll be a fan every week watching as many games as I can.  Once word gets around, you will hopefully see more and more fans in the seats.  Easter weekend was a tough time to begin a start up leagues first game and expect a big fan turnout.  Hope to see that change.

They play hungry right?

The play is below most upper college programs to be honest, kind of expected with how this was thrown together and most of these guys were just pulled off the street. They also pay these guys next to nothing, under 50k and with bonuses like 500 bucks per win. A far cry from the NFL league minimum of 750k.

They have a great TV deal though, amazed they received this much support considering what has happened with previous leagues. The tech additions and the fact they gave more then 1 single 4k broadcast per week, which is all the trillion dollar NFL has given us fans was a nice change! One thing that will need to improve is attendance, local high school games draw better , i know it was easter weakened but cripes they need to have more then 100 fans in the stands to survive, hell give the damn tickets away to make it look decent on tv. hell the players and staff outnumbered the fans in the stands.

Then look a little deeper into those rosters. Some of these guys played Pro and some in more than one league. There are only so many slots open in the NFL with thousands of great players not making that final cut. Click on any underlined link below for the NFL/CFL history for that player.

Coaching ranges, Jeff Fishers 23 years, Titans, Oilers, Rams,  to top division college coaches and many CFL/NFL personnel.

Look into the history of the AFL then pause and give that a thought....https://www.britannica.com/topic/American-Football-League-American-football-organization

Sure, not NFL, yet,  but certainly better than college ball. Give it a few years for these guys to gel.

C'mon man...give it a chance to breath before you shovel dirt over it.....🥴

The players make $4,500 per week.  QB’s make more. And they have no living expenses. Room and Board are paid for.

You've all watched old film of NFL games right? I don't mean from the leather head era either. 60's is old enough to make any mid pack college team today the favorite over 60's pretty much anybody. (IMHO)

The USFL in it's current incarnation is newer than new. It's a 90 day wonder that is going somewhere special if people will take their foot off the necks of those whose game they could never play.

IF we are going to rate football by attendance then the NFL needs to wrap it up and go home. College RULES that roost.

Forget 'per game' (venue size limited) and look at season total attendance. NCAA Divsion 1 MORE THAN double that of the NFL.

2 of a 10 week season in the books and the NO Breakers have already set the tone. The Stallions seem to have an offence but defense is not a strong IMHO. Well these two are up next and I see NO is favored by 3.5. I guess we will see. Saturday night at 7 PM CT on FOX. Seems a small spread considering.....

I haven’t been watching many of these games but last night’s was really good. And how about that OT rule?

Several rules in this league I like. 😉  My favorite is the non flagrant defensive pass interference rule of 15 yards instead of a spot foul. Holds offensive 'cheap shot' intentionally drawing the foul plays in check. NFL, are you listening?

BHAM makes the cut but not alone and not perfect. I see flaws in the armor. :) Any of the top four is a possible CHAMP!

Nice first season. I'm really looking forward to next season to see how Michigan and Tampa progress with Pro coaching vs the college and second string coaches.

    • I've had good experience with my Android head unit.
    • You should be evaluating enough comparable trucks to know if one sounds different than the others - if you can't tell something is amiss by ear, it's probably fine.   Further evaluate enough trucks so that you can determine what 'normal' looks, sounds and feels like. Even if this is the first truck you're looking at and want to buy, go look at several more (regardless of whether you intend to buy them).   Insist on taking the vehicle to be evaluated, spend some time looking ALL OVER IT, look for overspray where it shouldn't be, paint damaged on bolt heads that are not normally removed. Check for rust, missing fasteners, non-factory style fasteners, suspiciously new parts especially on non-wear items. Check for leaks, check fluid conditions and level (dirty isn't the worst thing in the world but exceptionally low is).   Ignore tire shine and plastic dressing that makes an engine 'shiny'.    Beware of heavily fragranced interiors to mask odd odors that could hide potential mold from a leaky rear window.   Carfax is barely worth the paper it printed on. DO NOT trust it, a vehicle can be wrecked, fixed by a bunch of drunk hillbillies in their cousin's backyard and still have a clean Carfax. I can meticulously maintain my vehicle at home with top quality parts, materials and methods, the Carfax won't show a thing.   Taking it to a shop to have a teenager working afterschool (an inexperienced mechanic) evaluate it is a waste of time.   Lastly, a good, well taken care of truck will present itself as such, it would be generally comparable to a new truck. An uncared-for truck will show it, dents, scratches, seat stains, paint swirls, tears, scuffs, marks, rattles, vibrations, clunks, miss matched tires, etc...
    • If you suspect an engine swap or similar modification to the front accessory drive...   Maybe try spending some time plugging in different make/models/years that utilized the same engine (prime donor vehicles or swap candidates), vans, full-size cars (Impala, Roadmaster), 4x4 trucks to get a collection of pump and brackets that are similar along with their associated part numbers; take that collection of part numbers to the parts store to compare.   Another Okie.
    • There are knowns and unknowns.   Knowns:   - LT, RST and LTZ names/trims are gone.  The new "Silverado" trim level replaces all 3 of those.  You should be able to configure the Silverado trim to match the equipment levels of those three trims.    Unknowns:    - Custom.  No mention of what engines it will have access to.  Dual exhaust being standard does seem to confirm a V8 option for the Custom trim though.  My "guess" is that Custom will have access to the Turbomax and the 5.7.  I could be wrong though.  The current Custom trim went 2.7 Turbomax only the last 4-5 years, and only had a single side exit exhaust.     - 40-20-40.  I would imagine that is NOT going away.  They only focused on showing the new interior on the top trims, Trail Boss, ZR2 and High Country, hence the images shown are just bucket trucks up front.         The info should start coming fairly quickly over the next weeks and months.  Production is supposed to start up later this year, so when the order guide launches, you'll be able to see the configurations of engines, cabs, seating, etc.
    • I don’t do offloading other than a dirt road literally for me it’s more about the look which I really appreciate a nice looking truck and I like sitting a higher and not just because I’m 5 foot seven lol..  I’m also not compensating for anything lol..  but I truly think it’s safer on the road the higher you sit you have better visibility generally speaking especially a few of your Sideview mirrors adjusted correctly. They do make a programmer rough country does they’re $1000 for these new 2500s but when I do a gear swap that would be a moot point. A lot of the shops that I go to in my area they’re all saying the same thing that Yukon Detroit axle Eaton Spicer Richmond they don’t have gear shot for these trucks which surprises me because hasn’t this body style been out since 2020? I’m hoping soon they have something because yeah I’ll have to spend the 3K to get both axles done. Thank you for all of your response responses. I apologize if there’s any grammatical error errors as I’m doing speech to text on my iPhone without proofreading
