Campaign Notice

Hey guys I haven't been here in awhile,done a search on this found nothing.

I received a Recall service Notice in the mail for my 98 Z-71 #03006 Electric Outside Rearview Mirror Switch Short Circuit.Anyone know of this or any other campaigns on the 98 K-1500 silverado.

Yes, I know of this campaign. I used to own a 1998 GMC K1500, and I also received the same thing in the mail that you did.

It is a free fix. Make an appointment with your dealer, and have your truck fixed. GM is installing a new jumper harness between the power mirror switch harness and the pwr mirror connector. They have had some problems where, in this power mirror circuit, the circuit gets a short-to-ground behind the door panel, and some trucks have caught on fire because of this.

Get your truck serviced without delay.

If you DID NOT get a recall notice in the mail, which it sounds like you probably did NOT, then call GMC or GM Customer Care, give them your VIN number, and see if there are any open campaigns on your truck.
