BigDave Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 Hey guys, I recently visited an auto show at the Texas State Fair. When I visited the truck section I saw two pickups that caught my eye. They were a Chevy and GMC fullsize with the 6.0L HO and rearwheel drive. Since then I have been researching the trucks everywhere and I am having no luck. They were called the Silverado and Sierra High Output. Is this just a big joke someone played on me? Someone please tell me they have heard something about it. Help Me Please!!! BigDave
ssminneapolis Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 i saw something about those about a month ago on the site...it was on the main page when you sroll down...might want to search throught the articles...
99-2door Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 Yeah, but don't hold your breath on the 6.0L becoming a regular option on 1/2tons. Almost all of those prototypes on the homepage have them. I bet few if any of them will have it if they make it to production.
HumanZoom Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 Is that the same HO 6.0 L in the SS and Escalade? lol...GM has a tendency to put much bigger engines in their concepts. If I'm not mistaken, the prototype SSR was suppose to have the 6.0 L in it too, right? Instead it ended up with the 5.3 L.
ssminneapolis Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 the engine that they want to put into the new concept trucks actually has more hp than the SS and Caddy's...i think they changed the cam and tuned it up a little more...if i remember right 400hp or something like that...
TarheelZ Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 I wonder if that's the engine Joe Gibbs Performance is using in his special edition Silverado? It's a great looking truck, IMO.
BigDave Posted January 16, 2004 Author Posted January 16, 2004 I am not sure but I think the Joe Gibbs Truck has a 5.3L Superchargered not a 6.0L. But oh yeah thats a sweet truck.
ssminneapolis Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 yeah gibbs is using a blower...not sure if it is the 5.3 or the 6.0...
