Hey just recently bought an extended cab 2007.5 (newer body) Silverado work truck with manual front windows and power locks. The back windows appeared to be fixed windows that did not open in anyway however when I went to replace the rear speaker I found what appears to be a regulator and spot for a handle. When I attach the handle from the front and apply some pressure it doesn’t move not sure if it could be stuck or if this doesn’t actually operate the window. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations on how I could get them to work.

Well I figured it out shortly after posting l, there is a locking screw on the regulator all you have to do is loosen it and throw on a handle. I’m going to leave the post up in case anyone else has this problem or if some one has a suggestion for how to fit a handle into the existing panel or where to find a door panel for extended cabs with a manual window handle.  image.thumb.jpg.15e26f9e9812b83583474b8c4986b396.jpg

I bet it's not too common to have manual windows in the rear, maybe that's why they had blank door panels, because they don't make 1 for manual windows ?

@richard wysongyea I didn’t even know this body style offered manual windows. I assume only this package has them so they may not do the panels. Just seems like they would have just done fixed glass in that case, seems odd to put in the regulator and the stub for the crank just to cover it.

it may have been the easiest way to delete the power window rather than having to change the metal around the window for fixed glass. I'm sure with a little ingenuity you can figure a way to  install the crank without hacking it up. maybe a trip to the boneyard to get some trim pieces off a car with manual windows
