error code 1416

I got a "service engine soon " light the other day while driving 50mph at ~14mmHg and a couple of other readings I cant tell what they are ( fuel trim? )

 

the chart said to check 2nd bank of the secondary air system ( AIR )

 

Does anyone have the flow chart to figure this out?

 

Strange thing is, it's running in open loop and it actually idles a bit smoother and pulls OD a bit easier too! Must be a bit richer in open loop ?

First report in:

 

The ELECTRIC smog pump on these trucks ( located on the right inner fender well) is used mainly for cold start up periods. ( heated o2 sensor is involved....

 

If all of the sensors , in particular, the heated oxygen sensor , does not send the correct signal to the pcm , you get an error code. 1415 for the left o2 sensor and 1416 for the starboard sensor. Apparently it was a spurious signal, although I DID wiggle all of the connectors to the AIR pump......

 

I have now had 40 start ups and the default sez: clear the code.

 

So now the light no longer comes on.

 

From what I read, 40 cycles triggers a reset.

 

Anyone??????????
