take a hacksaw blade and cut a vertical slice in it being careful not to cut into the threads on the manifold. it should come  out as you have relieved some of the pressure of the tapered pipe thread. if it still breaks  slice the other side and collapse it with a chisel. There is a plumbing tool that's like an easy out for pipes but I've never had much luck with them

I have a 92 Silverado K1500 5.7 liter which that connector did break off flush with the intake manifold. My intake manifold was leaking some coolant behind the alternator so I removed it to install new intake gaskets which made it a lot easier to get the broken piece out. I bought a 94 Silverado K1500 5.7 liter 3 years ago for my youngest son to drive and that connector cracked causing coolant to leak. I got lucky and purchased the socket designed for that fitting and slowly worked it back-and-forth until it got loose without breaking. I did spray the fitting threads with some Kroil oil several times giving it time to work down into the intake manifold threads. I would spray it several times during the day and would soak it down real good overnight. Like the other guy stated, they make other tools to remove the broke piece. Good luck!
