2018 Silverado 6spd hard downshift

Anything new in the 6sp hard downshift knowledge?  42000miles and transmission up shifts flawlessly. Has Hard downshift 3to2 or maybe 2to1 or both during quick stops. Should I take it in to at least have it noted before powertrain warranty expires?

Trans temps?

New thermostat or no?

Have you ever exchanged fluid?

 

Pretty sure if you take it in and complain, reference 21-NA-199 and they should get you set up with the new thermostat.

seal and o-rings fail very quickly in these trannies due to the extreme heat and oxidation of the seal materials

after your next oilchange, you might want to try adding seal softener for tansmissions to the mix.  I used a product before called Z-Bond, but its obsolete..  not sure what else is out there for seal reconditioning so that your trans maintains correct pressure to the clutches

even a chaep U-haul shop can install a "trans cooler" for you, this will exstend trans life exponentially

 

 

while in the shop , have the dealer do a trans re-learn. after fluid change
