If you buy coolant concentrate, then yes you must dilute that with water.

 

A 50/50 mixture is not required but is the benchmark number. That is good for roughly -34F freeze point, a 60/40 mix is good a little bit lower.

Dexcool.  It can be GM or Prestone or whatever, but use Dexcool.
