I ended up with E range tires, they were on sale and didn't realize it. At 34.21", there's a pretty big difference in fuel economy and acceleration. You definitely notice the transmission shifting more when going 80 uphill on the highway. Would I benefit from going to 3.42 gears with the heavier load tires?

I also found GM OEM front and rear differential for 3.42 and 3.73, it says ring gear is included

If it was me, I would either by new tires or use those tires until they wore out.  Either way it's still cheaper than front and rear differential swaps/installs.  Don't forget your pinions would need to be replaced as well.

I’m assuming this is a 5.3 TB with the 9.75” rear end, I think the only gear option is 3.42.  If you move up to a 9.76 axle, those had 3.73 gears with the diesel off road package, or the new diesel max trailering package.

Even the 6.2 max trailering package only received 3.42 gears, only way to get 3.73 is with the diesel.
