failure to start after remote start time out [ -27 degrees centigrade ]

2nd remote start does not start, also key will not start.

disconnect neg cable from battery, turn key to start and then off.

reconnect neg battery cable and turn key to start and vehicle now starts

and runs good .

any ideas GM mechanics could not figure this one out, to expensive to

change out all the electronics

So with remote start timeout, was the starter cranking? Or did it not do anything? How many km?

I would start with a “tuneup”. Spark plugs, air filter, clean the throttle body and MAF.

Possible you got crap gas with water in it. Should keep tank above half in this weather to prevent condensation.

I’m also thinking about the Low Pressure Fuel pump in the tank. With remote start it doesn’t prime the high pressure pump first, and there is a longer cranking time. When you open the drivers door you will hear a ‘whirring’ or ‘hissing’ noise. That is the LPFP priming the HPFP. If your LPFP is on the way out that could impact remote starting
