2016 Sierra 1500.  Locks are set to auto lock on exit but they don't.  The keyfob and the lock buttons all work normally.  No other issues with the locks except that they do not lock automatically.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

Isn't there usually a time delay that can be set for these? Maybe that needs to be changed?

Personally, I hate auto locking and have gotten bit by it before. Any of my vehicles that had it, I would always disable it right from the get go so I admit I never checked to see if this was a feature in my 2016. I much prefer manual locking by the FOB or hit the lock button on the way out.

And just thinking, I seem to recall seeing an auto lock in the menu but pretty sure that is for locking the doors when transmission is put into "D". Maybe this is what you saw???

mikeyk101 - I think you're right.

Initially I enabled the auto lock feature through the touch screen.  After reading the owners manual, it looks like auto lock means while ignition is on and transmission is taken out of park the doors will lock.  I was looking for the doors to lock after exiting the truck.  Does this sound right?

I've never seen this as an option "auto lock upon exiting."
Still, as @mikeyk101 said, there is an option to auto lock when placing in drive.
I have set mine to auto lock when I use the fob to get into the bed and open the tailgate without opening a door.
If I don't touch a door after unlocking with the fob, doors will automatically re-lock in 30 seconds.
