Remote start from key fob barely starts truck

First start in the morning using key fob will barely start truck. It seems like the starter will not stay engaged long enough. Now what I mean is that the remote start system cuts out power to the starter too quickly. If I manually start it with the key, it starts normally. Cannot figure why the system does not allow starter to engage long enough.

 

2011 Avalanche with 5.3 engine.

replace the battery in the FOB?  maybe its a weak signal?
