I need some help. I have a 2019 silverado LD Custom and I was spraying some aerosol EXIDE battery contact protectant (1 oz can) and I accidentally dropped it in the engine. It’s actually stuck inside the engine compartment but behind the wheel well. I got under the truck, I can’t see it. I removed the wheel well liner, I can’t get to it. It’s on the other side of the metal divider.

I tried a telescoping tool and a magnetic tool. I admit defeat. I can’t get it out. What if the can explodes, will it kill me? It’s only a 1 oz can, but it’s flammable and under pressure. It says it may explode at 120 degrees, I’m in Georgia and it’s July…it will get to that temperature  pretty quick inside the engine bay. I’m afraid the dealer will have trouble getting to it without completely tearing it apart. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try removing or at leas loosening the bolts which hold the skid plate.

A few months ago I dropped the oil fill tube cap when doing an oil change….  Down it went…

Had to loosen the skid plate to get it out…

Definitely teaches a person to slow down
