So I have a 2023 gmc Sierra 1500 elevation model with the 5.3l and 10 speed, when I just maintain speed around 40-47 miles and hour it rumbles and slightly vibrates, almost like running over little bumps. And happens in lower speeds as well. I’ve drove in L9 in which the problem leaves, so I know it has something to do with DFM. But I’ve seen other post talking about it being DFM, that was fixed with the transmission valve body being replaced. And was wondering if it was a common fix for this issue and if it’s worth bringing to the dealers attention, thanks.

My dealership said that could not replicate the issue and it bugs the hell out of me.

Usually at about 43/44 mph and just lightly on the pedel my truck starts vibrating like your chugging a standard transmission. 
I think they are hiding something

I'm having the same issue. Started around 5000 miles and has gotten worse. At 30K now. Took it back to the one dealer twice. There recommendation was to keep driving it till it breaks?? Went to another dealership recently and changed the fluid and reset the learn process. It made no change, I've got another appointment in a couple weeks.

My vibration is most noticeable when the driveline is "floating" not pulling or holding back. As soon as you take the slack out of the driveline it is smooth. It does it at all speeds but it is more noticeable in 40-60 MPH range. Especially on flat to slightly down hill roads

2023 Silverado 5.3L with 10 speed doing the exact same thing , vibration when going certain speeds or going down slight incline , drive in L9 and truck runs great , but doesn't that defeat the purpose of DFM , they may as well just go back to the regular engine without DFM , has anyone had any luck figuring it out ? my 2017 Silverado had AFM and never had an issue thats why I traded up , wishing now would have kept it !  This exactly why people are switching to imports the quality isn't there anymore especially with the increase in price !

I’m having the same issue with my 2023 Sierra 5.3  dealership changed a valve in the transmission and a new torque converter. But vibration still comes and goes. But only when the active fuel management is engaged. It’s very annoying.  Dealership is contacting GM engineering about it.  Under light load at about 1100rpm truck vibrates.  Shop foreman felt it and said that definitely wasn’t normal.  
still no fix yet.  Wondering if I can just get the AFM deleted somehow.

Check the inboard side of your brake rotors for what looks like buildup. This will cause vibration issues, it from the crap brake pads being used, thank you comi foria...

This almost sounds like TCC shudder.  For the hell of it, one of you take your truck to a good reputable transmission shop and explain to them the issue and go with them for a test drive.  Most shops will do this free of charge.  I've had this exact same vibration as all of you have described but in my 07 Avalanche and it was TCC shudder (Torque converter shudder).

 

This is a direct quote from Google about "what is TCC shudder"

- Torque converter shudder is a shudder or brief shake in the vehicle after internal clutches apply in the torque converter. Most torque converter shudders happen at about 45MPH. It is similar to running over a rough spot on the road or running over a cattle guard.

I have the same problem. Took my 2023 elevation to the dealership at 18000 miles. They said my tires had “chop” but I wanted it noted there was something wrong. I replaced the tires at around 34,000 miles and a the whole time the shudder/vibration remained, getting more aggressive as the miles added up. Never stopped. Then asked the local service garage to rebalance the tires at 35,000 miles and see if they notice the issue and they said there’s a bulletin out but no fix, bring it in and get it on file. Went back to the dealership and they claimed the same “sorry, smooth as a whistle” .  I agree that something is being covered up. Now at 38,000 miles with no documentation with the dealership as they played me for an idiot. I have the limited power train to 60,000 miles. Keep in mind we live about 45 minutes from a dealership. Back and forth and they claim no issues.

the local service garage mentioned something like this. Maybe even from this posting but they felt for sure something GM should handle noting  it’s a 2023.

I went to dealer today for my 2023 sierra denali and they said same thing can't duplicate it but yet as soon as I got back in truck going down road could feel vibration and see mirror vibrating what a joke gm dealerships have become mine said oh your not used to DFM idk my last 4 trucks have had it lol

I have a 23 Silverado, 12000 miles, with the 3.0 doing the same thing so mine cannot be AFM.  I get a slight vibration or shutter when maintaining speed at around 1700-2000 rpm.  Do you remember back when you drove a clutch and you shift too early and it would bog and shutter until the rpms got up, that is what I feel. Seems like torque converter shutter.  I took it to my local Chevy dealer and they said they cannot replicate it.  I plan to take it back in and have them ride with me to help them see the error in their ways.

    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
