I have a 23 Silverado, 12000 miles, with the 3.0 doing the same thing so mine cannot be AFM.  I get a slight vibration or shutter when maintaining speed at around 1700-2000 rpm.  Do you remember back when you drove a clutch and you shift too early and it would bog and shutter until the rpms got up, that is what I feel. Seems like torque converter shutter.  I took it to my local Chevy dealer and they said they cannot replicate it.  I plan to take it back in and have them ride with me to help them see the error in their ways.

We regret to hear of this vibration and shutter concern in your 2023 Silverado and would like to help investigate further. Please send us an email to [email protected]. Be sure to include your Username and Forum name in the subject line with further information. We look forward to your email.

I have 2023 Sierra 1500, 5.3, 10 speed, low milage 10K, and noticed the same vibration at low speed. I thought I was a bit too picky but started to search and found very interesting posts. I also believe it's the transmission related to DFM. I had a Sierra 2021 and no such vibration problem at all! I was told by GM dealer in 2021, there was an association between GM and Toyota regarding 10-speed transmissions configuration so I guess that association was no longer effective in 2023. Pure extrapolation. I didn't search for that. The thing is; I found a video on youtube saying you can manually shift transmission speed to 1 lower speed, for example L9 if you have 10-speed transmission and it will deactivate DFM. 😲 I plan to try this out and see if the vibration will be there still. Keep you posted.

I see GM is contacting people in this post. That's very appreciated. I would also like to be contacted by GM. Does anyone have any feedback about those private conversations with GM? Thanks!

My dealership said that could not replicate the issue and it bugs the hell out of me.

Usually at about 43/44 mph and just lightly on the pedel my truck starts vibrating like your chugging a standard transmission.
I think they are hiding something

I’ve been chasing this same problem in my 2020 elevation for years now.  Valve body replaced (issue disappeared for a few thousand miles then came back), torque converter replaced (same thing issue disappeared for a few thousand miles then came back), cam shaft actuator magnet replaced (seemed to make the vibrations worse).  I’ve ran through about 8 dealers and they have got to the point of charging me a diagnostic fee as soon as I walk in the door in an attempt to keep me from coming back.  That GM social media email is pretty useless, they’ll make an appointment for you and that’s about it.  I hate to say it but I don’t think that issue will ever be fixed.  Seems like L9 makes the vibrations disappear for me as well.  It’s seems like the DFM makes the transmission shudder.

2023 sierra slt 16000 miles having the same problem with vibration. Took it to the dealership and they keep it for a week and said GM said to try this and that and they did and still the problem hasn’t been fixed another 4 days later with them saying they are wanting for a response from GM engineers and still nothing. This is crazy with the amount you pay for vehicles these days

I hate to say it but I think you get a good truck or a bad truck with GM in the last 10 years, It's sad that GM used to be the most reliable or least for me and my family. I had a new Escalade in 2017 and it had terrible vibration dealership kept a total of 12-14 weeks from July 5 to December 12. They absolutely tore that truck to pieces

-2 pico vibration analysis test
-Road forced balanced the wheels 3 times
-Replaced 8 tires
-Replaced transmission valve body
-Tranmission fluid flush
-Replaced torq converter
-Replaced ring and pinion
-Replaced drive shaft

-Replaced steering wheel mounts

-Checked all body mounts, rotors, etc

What got me was when the service manager called me and said the tire was moving on the rim when I was going down the road causing balance to get off. I had 2 separate cases with GM headquarters and that is an absolute joke, to say the least. They care nothing about you or the trouble you're having with your car, I ended up taking a huge hit on that truck and sold it to get out from underneath it. Hate you are going through this but good luck with your journey and hope you do get it fixed.

I am having the exact same issue as others here with low speed vibration/shudder around 1200-1500 rpm.  I also took it back to the dealer, twice in the first 10000km and, just like the others, the tech said they could not replicate the problem.  Also like the others, it’s a 2023 Sierra Elevation 5.3. I also described the issue to the tech as similar to driving a standard transmission and shifting too early, resulting in a shudder.  Considering the number of people with the exact same problem getting the exact same response, I am in agreement that they are fully aware of this issue and just not addressing it.

Otherwise, the truck is amazing on the highway, has no issues under higher speeds, even at the same rpm, but this low speed shudder is driving me nuts to the point where I’m wondering what kind of loss I would take selling a less-than-year old truck with 11000km on it.

Hello,

my new 2023 shakes from 5-80 mph! Same deal it goes to the dealer and the same remains shaking vibrations that make it unlivable! GM fix these trucks!! There’s a Service Bulletin on the issue. I have driven several other 1500’s GMC and Chevrolet that are smooth and enjoyable!

Has anyone had any luck on this issue, I got mine back from the Dealership yesterday and they said we recognize your concerns, but the GM says it is just the way that some of the trucks ride.  We drove one 2024 Sierra Denali 2500 Ultimate that had zero issues and rode smooth as butter, and then another 2500 AT4 and it has the same issue as mine and all of yours!  Dealership said until GM tell them what to do, they have no idea what to fix or change, this is madness to me!

Legit told me to just drive faster, so I dont end up in the spot where the shutter or bad ride starts because as many of you state it seems to only happen in certain driving conditions.

Happens the most to me around 1000-1400 RPMs, and 40MPH.

This is the exact parameters on my path to work, so I get it daily and it is so annoying!

anyone have a solution?? :-(

    • So you're saying toss the baby out with the bathwater? @txab posted article was her take on how AI can be used to manipulate pricing as it already does and has been rebuked by the judiciasry in housing. How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
