Just bought a 21 with 44K miles on it. I’m starting to hear and feel that rumbling noise, when I flush the fluid should I be looking for a specific fluid to put back in it? Or stay away from?

The GM/Mobil stuff.  GM p/n 19417577, Mobil 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP with the Blue Label.  The only stuff you should be running.

I must be lucky, I had 2 trucks with the 8sp, no problems, 2 trucks now with the 10 sp and no problems. Granted I did not put over 75,000 on the 8sp,  40,000+ on the 2021 10 sp and so far 11,000 on the 2024 10 Sp. What I did do with every trans for the last 40 yrs was remove the oem fluid at 10,000 (+-) and replace it with AMSOIL. OEM fluids are often mediocre at best. They strive to make it last the warranty, after that its no longer their problem.  But, everyone complains about GM quality but insists on using GM licensed lubricants. I'd never use anything GM recommends.  D you really think Mobil says, lets give GM the best ATF we have?
