Has anyone tackled a USB-A to USB-C port conversion?

Obviously I'm talking about a data transfer conversion for working Apple CarPlay and Android and not just power.

 

I can't seem to find anything in regards to an upgrade kit, or possibly a rewire kit.

 

The guts are not what I expected to find.
