Trailer Hitch for 10,500 lb Max Load and 1100 lb Tongue Weight - GM (15824090) part of Z82 TRAILERING PACKAGE (SPECIAL) (REESE TYPE HITCH)

Was this OEM'd for GM?

A V5 receiver isn't  correct for your 1500 truck you should be using a V4.

What is the hitch rating for a 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500?
Class 4 trailer hitches are commonly mounted on full-size pickup trucks and SUVs. They feature a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening and generally have a weight carrying capacity up to 10,000 lbs. gross trailer weight. Most class 4 hitches can also utilize a weight distribution hitch for ratings as high as 12,000 lbs.

That is the OEM hitch.  Note the 8 digit p/n on the label and the "GM" marking.

The actual tow rating is set based on your engine, cab, 2wd or 4wd and gear ratio.

...its the OE hitch.  P/N is right on the label 15824090.

Yes but there are three different hitches one for each truck #1500, #2500 & #3500 its not a on size fits all. Where did that hitch come from was it factory  installed on the truck?

RPO code sticker has "Z85" and "Z82", so I'd say it is stock. My dad bought it used from a dealership in 2015. G80 diff and GU5 axle, 3.23

An "ideal" Class 5 hitch has over 10K lbs, and 1,200 lbs tongue, so this misses the 1,200 tongue weight Class 5 "ideal" rating by 900 lbs. But it isn't tiny... My searches showed ONE picture by a repair shop showing a damaged 15824090 from an older vehicle with a newer, similar, but heavier constructed, hitch.

One important point, any hitch, no matter what Class, should be inspected [at least] annually for severe rust damage.

I saw "V-5 Talon" file name on Google, manufacturer unknown.

Yep, same sticker on my 2012 NHT.

Well obviously so.  But.  15824090 shows in GM as the only hitch for a 1500 as the factory equipped hitch for factory tow pkg.  Its also in the accessory hitch package GM offered.

So...its the right hitch for the truck.
