I don't agree with what GM said, apparently this is a feature, and that any other vehicle driving over that road would do the same thing.   I think they just dont want to fix it.  I've never experienced any shaking like that in a vehicle before.

Normal or not, I think the mirror design on this generation is pretty bad (as well as ugly).

GM refused to fix this, and said it was a normal feature of the tuck.

Just an update- I had my truck in for service and noted to the service manager that the mirror seems really loose. It is being replaced under warranty. I suggest that you try another dealership.

my driver's side mirror is shaking and rattling so bad i think the mirror is going to come off when i hit minor-medium bumps and shakes and rattles moderately on small bumps/imperfections, mostly on maintained dirt road but sometimes on pavement.  i talked with the service manager and showed him a video, and he said it's normal.  he has a 2022 and it does it.  they did say they will look at it but i don't expect anything.

Passenger side mirror is solid.  My 2020 would do it on rare occasion and only with a significant bump.

GM reached out to me a while ago, as result of a survey I responded to, and asked me to send a copy of the video to them.  haven't heard back.

That is not true I have a 2024 sierra 2500 drivers mirror has been replaced 3 times and I'm bringing it back again. My passenger mirror has a little movement, it doesn't shake when going over bumps.

We are sorry to hear of this driver side mirror concern you are experiencing with your 2024 Sierra and would like to investigate this further on our end. When you can, please send us an email to [email protected]. Be sure to include your Username and Forum name in the subject line with additional details. We look forward to your response.

I hit a railway crossing @ a much higher speed than I normally would. Yes it did shake. I crossed another crossing @ a more moderate speed & there wasn't any movement.

I wonder if it was mounted rigidly, it might cause damage to the cameras during impacts?

My 2024 is on it's third driver's side mirror. The dealer will not try to tighten anything they just replace it.

The passenger side mirror on mine pops and sometimes fails to fully extend/retract. Also shakes quite a bit when it's extended, like previously described in this thread it acts like it's out of its track and/or stripped. I can reset it but that doesn't last for long. The drivers side one does not (yet) give issues. Very irritating, especially at highway speed. Disappointing as the truck only has about 24,000 miles on it.
