Well here's my dilemma, I've got a 2007 Silverado 2500hd 4x4 with a 5 speed and a 6.0. It's a ext. cab long box and it's a got a 2 piece steel shaft. I know the 2015 2500hd trucks that are a double cab long box truck are 158" wheelbase, my truck is a 157.5" wheelbase. I'm just about positive that that shaft will work because I've heard of people doing it. My main concern is will I twist this driveshaft up because I like doing burnouts (dumping the clutch). Just not sure if it will hold up or not.

What's the dilemma?  You have a strong, working solution and you want to change it to something that might not be?

For my '04 Sierra extended cab, cab&chassis w 2-piece driveshaft, I believe the crossmember for the center support bearing would be in the way of a single-piece driveshaft, you might look at that, as  removing it would weaken the frame and modifying it to go around the driveshaft would require some fabrication work.

I want to get the one piece driveshaft mainly because i cant keep a support bearing in the truck it seems like they fail prematurely as well as i just started having a thud in the driveline after replacing my u joints and support bearing. I believe its coming from the support bearing rubber moving around and hitting on the cage of the bearing. With fabrication im not sure i know a guy that did this with his crew cab long box truck thats where i got the idea from.
