Hope someone can help me here. I think was picking up my kid and my check engine light started to flash but very inconsistent flickers. It happened for about 1/4 mile and went away. I got home to scan it and it's came up as pending p0300 misfire. I recently changed the sparkplugs and cables about a month ago. I checked the plugs and noticed the rear passenger one was able to be tightened a little more. I also noticed one cable came off fairly easily. Would a loose plug that was slightly snug cost that? Also, the truck wasn’t misfiring I just noticed the slight flicker on the check engine light.

Yes, it's totally possible that that would be the case.

Some aftermarket wires aren't very good. I try to stick with the OEM when it comes to those parts.

If it starts happening again, then you'll need a live data scan tool so that you can watch each cylinder to figure out where to look for the problem.
