HI, I have a 2002 GMC Yukon XL. Our Ol' Reliable. Recently, it randomly dies on us in hot weather mostly. It just sputters out and dies. We need to turn it off for a bit and then it starts up again for a few minutes and then dies. Usually does this when the weather is hot outside, but the temperature gage in the truck doesn't indicate the vehicle is overheating. It has only 202000 miles. Nothing for a GMC Yukon. :) Any ideas?

You need to figure out what you're losing - spark, or fuel. Could be a failing fuel pump, or, could be a crank position sensor, or ignition control module.

From the symptoms, it does sound more like a pump issue, but a pressure test will confirm that ... or not.
