Couple interior questions

I've had the truck a year now but still haven't figured out a couple things (I'm a jarhead, not a rocket surgeon). For the memory seats, I've always had to hold the button down vs just pressing it. I'm assuming that's just how it works but I was hoping there was something I didn't know. 

Along the same lines, is there a way to have it return to a preset position when you exit the vehicle? On my Fords, the seat would go all the way back when I shut of the engine (handy feature). 

 

How the heck do you get the dome lights to work? When I go out at night they rarely turn on when I open the door.

.To recall memory seats, yo have to hold down the button( 1 or 2).

 

You can have the easy exit I believe - check the settings under vehicle for seats

 

There is a button on the overhead console to either have dome lights on or off when opening the doors.

The manual covers pretty much all of this kind of stuff, but the indexing at the back is poor, making it hard to find things sometimes. Downloading the manual onto your computer or phone from the GM web site allows you to search the manual more easily.
