Devyn223 Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 5.3 the truck runs and drives great but as your going down the road the truck will stall and die and wont start back but if you leave it for a few hours it will start and run fine until it dies again please help it has a check engine light and the code says Evan purge cylinder but I have replaced it what could it be
CamGTP Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Possible that whatever is causing it is getting hot and needs to cool off before working again. If the crank sensor isn't working, that could be a cause. A live data scan tool can watch that stuff, if there is no crank signal from the sensor, it won't start.
IndMechJeff Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 Replaced the gas cap lately? I remember a Cartalk episode where the gas cap wasn’t venting properly and would cause the car to stall like you’re describing
