2019 Z71 bed rack - not sure what to get

I think I want a bed rack for my 2019 Z71. I do a fair amount of truck camping and my bed is usually full of storage crates, camp chairs and a big cooler. I want to bring my big kayak on some of my trips but there just isn't room with the other stuff so I'm considering a bed rack.

 

I live near the mountains (East coast) so see a lot of those 'overland' style bed racks with integrated storage systems for things like roof top tents, fuel tanks, shovels, etc. I don't think I want one of those but the idea of a modular style rack that I can expand if I decide I want a more versatile rack system.

 

Any suggestions? I'm both interested in a standard aluminum rack as well as a base modular system. My bed side rails have some kind of plastic cover that only exposes the rear poicket so I'm not even sure how these things attach.

Yakima makes a temporary rook rack system (temp= removable) it’s not rates for much weight but it take a kayak for example. Otherwise, at not a huge jump in price is UpTop… They are Not a removable rack, but rates for WAY more weight and not far off the price from Yakima. Personally, I am planning on uptop for at least a rack on my A.R.E. Topper and probably the actual roof rack as well.

Thanks! Haven't made any decisions but cabin fever has me planning some trips when things thaw out a little bit and still wanting to get something like this. I'll check out UpTop.
