Remote start

Good Evening Friends.

 

I live in Ontario Canada, the winters here are very cold, my 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 2.7 TURBO did not come with a remote start, do you guys have any recommendations?

Do you have the keyed ignition or push button start?

Interesting. I didn't know they came in a key ignition type. Might be fleet? I'd imagine any sort of aftermarket place can install a remote-start.

If you want a factory option, GM makes them.  2 different p/n based on what tailgate you have.

Can I program the new keys my self? Dealer wants $150

Canadian market trucks it must be done at the dealer and has been this way for many years.  In the US and Mexico, 2020 model year and prior there is an alternate method that can be used without programming.  

Its the same when we get used Canadian trucks here in the states to sell, additional keys we have to program with GM SPS2.

 

The remote start packages I linked above does need programming no matter what.  It has an authorization code and two new key fobs.  It does not come with keys.
