Another question on the backlighting for the dash/display lights.  I've gone into the settings and set the system to stay in "Day" mode for the dash/display lights, however when the headlights kick on they still auto dim to night mode.  Normally this would be fine as all vehicles do this, however in my opinion in the evening or morning the dash lights are now too dim, even with the brightness toggled to max.  Is there a reason why changing the setting doesn't actually do anything?  Or am I doing something wrong?

I think the day or night is more theme based than brightness although I keep mine in auto.  For example, at night the background of the map will be black whereas in the day it will be white.

I checked mine & it's set for Auto. A rotary switch like in previous trucks would give better control. Having to press + or - multiple times is ridiculous.

I'll have to take a look at that confirm, I didn't think about it that way so good idea.

I'm gonna have to try again.

I've don't adjust it often, but I've been thinking that holding it longer changes it more, and the longer it is held, the faster it changes.

Yes, I'd also like a dial control  -- like was always used, until recently.

OTOH, I don't want to go back to the foot operated high/low beam switch.

It's almost they want things to be less intuitive than what was used.

You're dating yourself LOL My '82 K15 was the only truck I owned that had it. (my father's '75 & '79 C25s had them). In the snowbelt they were susceptible to damage from salt & slush.

I confess -- learned to drive in '70's, so drove lots of '60's and '70's vehicles....
