AC/Heater Vents Question

Lately, I've noticed that air almost always comes out of the defrost and side vents even when the defrost button is set to disabled. The only time it doesn't come out of the defrost vents is when the only vent button enabled is the "in your face" center button.

 

If I only enable the floor vents I still get air coming from the defrost vents, as well as a little in the side vents.

 

Is this normal behavior or is something out of adjustment on my truck?

Sounds normal.  Are you set to the floor position and are feeling air from the defrost vents?

Yes, that's exactly what happens. I also fee a slight amount on side vents.

Just found this in the manual:

 

Defrost mode: Air is directed to the windshield,

outboard A/C outlets, and side window

outlets.

 

Center mode: Air is directed to the A/C outlets.

 

Floor mode: Air is directed to the floor outlets,

with some air directed to the windshield,

outboard A/C outlets, and side window outlets.
