funny u ask about the leaks. i re-tighten all the bolts up today. had a pretty big leak in the engine bay.. some ofthe bolts were finger loose...

i had them re-tighten about 2 weeks ago after install... soo it looks like every once a week, im going to have to tighten them... otherwise, no problems!!! and they sound sooooooooooooooooooo good!!!

You need a set of locking header bolts. They are made by a company called Stage 8.

Summit Racing sells them for $43.95.

Worth every penny in my book. I had headers on my old Ford and had continuous problems with the bolts loosening, resulting in gasket failures. Replaced them with a set of these, never had to tighten them again.

How much did the headers set you back? Was there a noticeable performance change?

hello again MN Z-71..lol, i just posted on the HId question..

yea, i might buy the lockin bolts...we'll see.. i don't mind re-tighting them...

i got them from truckperformance.com for about 600.. pm me for details..i got sources all over for everything..lol..

i can tell there is a performance gain..when they are actually bolted up tight..i have been drivin on them while they were loose, so i can't say exactly. my mpgs suffered too.. this week when its nice out, i'll be drivin it. soo i think tuesday.. but its definitly better than stock. there is no backpressure now and u can hear the injectors tickin, that is my only problem. but they sound really good!!!! really deep exhaust sound.

i bought these in prep for the s/c. soo we'll see how they work out.

any other questions, feel free, Aj

LOL are you sure your mpg's didn't suffer because of your foot on the gas too much?

LOL, it could be b/c of my heavy right foot, that does factor in...but i think its b/c of the leaks...

Your mileage should have picked up with the install. Are you sure your not admiring that nice new sound with a little heaver foot.

I picked up about 3+ mpg with headers and a few TBI mod's. on my '89.

Keep us posted on what you think about power gains.
