Hey guys,

My friend just got an '04 4 door 6.6 HD. I noticed that he has the HD extendable mirrors. I tow alot and those would help alot on my truck. Does anybody know if they would fit and what parts I would need. I got a hook up at a local dealership so I can buy direct from them.

I put the manual towing mirrors on my 02 Sierra about a year ago. I got them from GMPartsDirect. The part # is 12495931. Cost when I bought them was $160 for the pair. Since than they have corrected the "mistake" and now get about $137 each. Hope this helps.

so you want the power extending mirrors?

Do you currently have power mirrors?

If so I believe on the 03 and 04s you can swap the mirrors, have your BCM reprogrammed and be good to go.

I know you can do that swapping between the power folding and power extending ones and it works. The same switch does those functions too, just when it is in the position on the selector it folds/extends them out or in.

i just pulled the camper mirrors off of my truck and installed the power folding mirrors, i had to have the BCM reprogrammed for the power folding mirrors, but you dont need the BCM programmed to install the camper mirrors. How much will you give me for my mirrors FLODINE? They are perfect. And yes, they are compatible, no problem, 03' and 04' have the same wire harness. 2002 and older use a different harness and some "pinouts" are required for it to work.

It was 3 screws and 2 wire hanesses to remove on the door panel, and 3 screws that hold the mirror on. The whole install took me 20 minutes, and it was my first time. I could do it now in 10. Very easy swap.

I have a 2003 with the power heated mirrors. I have recently purchased a set of power extendable mirrors. Based on the feedback and I as I assumed, it is a direct swap. However, do you believe a BCM reprogram is necessary in this case? If so, what is a BCM (newbie here...) ? Linda, during door trim removal, was there a transparent plastic lining against the door frame and is it easily removable ?

Thanks

I have the power extending mirrors on my 03 1500HD. If you live in a cold climate, save your money. They are a POS. They never work when you need them, one has already been replaced at about 20,000k You have to have someone pull on them to assist going out, also sometimes to retract. Biggest waste of $500 CAD I ever made. Anyone else have fun with these things??
