mongrel Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 1. Are the torsion bars heavier? 2. Is the radiator bigger? 3. I don't plan to plow snow. But, about the wiring: might it be useful for something else, like some bumper mounted accessory? Is there a plug near the grille, or what? What is your souce of information? Thanks.
builderpaul Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 Depends on the year truck and size. I know about the 04s you can go to www.edmunds.com for other years and models. In the 04s 2500hd's it includes the skid plates, bigger air cleaner, larger (145 amp) alternator, a switched wire (dead ended in the headliner) for a roof light. Says nothing about torsion bars. HDs already have the aux oil, trans, and power steeering coolers. No plug at grill, the plow installer runs all there stuff.
PeterbiltChrome Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 snow prep pkg also has a stiffer front suspension to carry plow weight~
Dusterman Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 The Good Part of the Plow pkg is it comes with all the heavy duty features stated above. The bad part if you dont plow, is that the truck rides like a one ton. Not a smooth ride by any means. I have the plow pkg on my 2003 1500 and its rides significantly rougher than the std model...something to think about.
