I recently started to notice an exhaust or gas smell coming through the vents in my 2024 Sierra. I mostly have the climate set to Auto so I have to play around with, "does it happen with heat on/Off", "AC on/off" etc. I have an apt with the dealership but I would like to see if anyone has come across this? If so, what did you or the dealer find? If not, what are some additional troubleshooting tips you would recommend?

Thank you in advance!

When does it happen.  At idle in park?  Or while driving?

my 2020 with the 2.7 started doing it this winter when i remote start the truck, once it warms up it doesn't do it. i put my truck in the shop at work and pressurize the exhaust system and sprayed it with soapy water and could not find a leak. the next morning i smell exhaust when i get in the truck, i now leave it on recirculate and its not as bad. it sucks when you have to drive with the window open at 4 degrees to air out the cab. this morning it is 35 degrees and it didn't do it. so it has something to do with cold and the shop was warm so i didn't find it , guess i will have to wait until next winter to find it

Just getting back to this...

So I never ended up taking my truck to the dealer. Before my appointment, I started noticing this smell in other places outside of my truck, particularly when there was a breeze on my face, much like vents pointing at you in a vehicle. I google why do I smell something no one else smells and it returned pantom smells. This can be caused by a whole host of things. For me it was just sinus pressure due to allergies, according to my ENT. After a course of steroids, no more smell. Crazy!

Yes its a thing mine does it to when sitting at a stop sign . 2.7 l engine 2024 . Wasn't sure thought a diesel was around but it becomes more frequent.  Want to see if there is more before taking it to the Dealership.  Also  thought it was from oil spraying my truck buts its been a year.
