Auto volume control

I recently bought a '99 Suburban that I have a question on. If you leave the volume on the radio cranked up and shut the vehicle off, when you restart the truck the volume immediately jumps to where you left it. My '99 Mountaineer would gradually increase volume when starting to avoid damaging the speakers and making the occupants jump outa their seats. I know I could just turn the volume down before I shut the truck off, but I was wondering if this feature is not available on the '99 sub.

I haven't seen that feature on GM trucks yet.

On the OBS trucks, threre was a SVC knob below the volume dial. If you turned up (11 oclock) the volume would get load quick with speed. If you turned it off (6 oclock) it would not turn the volume up at all.

On the NBS trucks, it is on the far right hand side and says something like Auto Vol or something like that.

I have the SVC setting, but that is just for auto adjustment of volume when road noise is a factor. What I'm looking for is a feature that keeps the volume from blasting when you turn on the radio or ignition, if I leave it turned up when I turn the ignition off. It's a nice feature, especially if you have a bad heart

the sCV control is on the same place (left on volume knob) 95-02. It is on the right on 03-04.

 

 

Put in an aftermarket 1000w stereo system , then you will learn to turn the voulme down when you stop real quick
