Lube points on 2002 1500 2WD

I've seen the lube guide on the site however, I can only find 6 zerks on my 2wd versus the 11 listed on the 4wd guide. 3 inside of each front wheel , the inner tie rod ends seems to have sealed boots on them and no zerks. I can't locate the idler arm either, basically all the lube points from the outside in can't be located.

Also, while changing my fuel filter I noticed a zerk on the drive shaft. Does this require lube and if so can I use regular chassis lube?

Thanks

most 2wd nbs trucks have the rack & pinion steering

in this case you will only have 6 grease points on the front end

if the ujoint is greasable then yes chassis grease is fine

the u-joint must have been replaced at some point because

factory u-joints are not greasable.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure the term used to describe the steering but rack and pinion sounds like a winner to me and explains the difference from the 4wd.

The zerk I was referring is actually on the drive shaft and not the ujoint. Not sure where it ultimately leads too but it's hanging off the shaft itself.
