My truck’s in the shop for a suspected clogged DEF injector. Had the “service emission system,” “reduced engine power” messages along with no power.

I’m shocked there’s no filter on the DEF system to prevent the injector from clogging. Does anyone know of a way to add an inline filter to prevent this issue?

No, I’m not interested in paying $3k to do a full delete. Simply want to improve upon the stock setup.

unless your getting dirt or other contaniments in when filling, there is no need for a filter. the def fluid will crystalize and plug the injector. one way to help prevent this is to always check the date on the def fluid, if its been sitting on a shelf for a year don't use it. also don't use a jug that has been opened and sat for awhile

Clogged def injector is probably crystalized def.

If so, not can easily be corrected by soaking/washing the injecter with water.
