Hard Shifting

My dad drives a 1993 1500 Blazer (sweet ride) with the 350, auto, 4x4, and all the bells and whistles.

The only complaint is that it shifts very hard.

Any suggestions, comments or ideas on this matter?

Do you happen to know what tranny is in it? My '95 has a 4L60E in it and was doin some funky things and makin noises "whining" .Turns out that my alternater was going bad,the diode trio/rectifier was bad and sent a slight AC current through the system...4L60E has lots of solonoids in it for shifting and such...they do funny things when exposed to AC current... I replaced the alternater and the noises went away This may not apply to your situation,depends on what tranny is in the truck.
