Suspension Clunk

Every time I pull into or out of my driveway at slow speed I a clunk as truck twists ( I come in at an angle).

Happens at other ramped business entrances too.

Is this common?

I believe there is a service bulletin for a clunk that comes from the rear leaf springs.  A family member had the same issue on a 2010 2500. Try spraying some sort of lubricant in between the leaf springs (which is along the lines of what the service bulletin states).

 

Otherwise if that doesn't help its probably time for a warranty service visit to see if something else is wrong.

You can also hear a clunk when the second spring stage in the rear suddenly  takes load  as you go over a speed bump or into a driveway. That’s normal. The third stage engagement on a 3500 makes even more of a clunk if you are at around 50% payload and hit a bump or dip.
